The Works:
"The first thing I noticed about Janine was her beautiful eyes and thick dark hair," says
Salon Greco co-owner Cathie Politis Kobsa. Anthony agreed to very subtle highlights around her face
and an angular, straight shaping of her hair, which was more flattering to her face. Kobsa wrapped
Anthony's hair in Velcro flat sheets and allowed it to dry naturally. Kobsa smoothed her hair out
with a blow dryer and flat iron.
Anthony was then treated to a mini-facial by esthetician Purani.
Kobsa stepped in again to do her wizardry with makeup, all from Trucco, a line that's widely
available at high-end beauty salons. "We kept the look simple but elegant," says Kobsa. Sheer
liquid foundation was applied first, then light blush was brushed on Anthony's upper cheekbone. A
soft chocolate shadow was used on the upper lid, and then Kobsa smudged a little dark charcoal
shadow on the outer upper corner of the lid. Anthony's brows were filled in and mascara applied.
Kobsa lined Anthony's lips then applied lip gloss for shine.
E.K. Taylor owner Shelley Freeman wanted a sophisticated, versatile look for Anthony, and
chose a knee-length wool plaid trench coat, great jeans, a lingerie-look top and a pair of fabulous
mules, which pulled the whole thing together. "The jacket is so versatile - going from funky fun to
sophisticated and fashionable when paired with black slacks," says Freeman. Anthony fell in love
with the jeans because they were the first pair she's found in years that fit her. And the rust-and
orange-suede mules - they're the cat's meow.
