Atlanta Braves and Publix Host “She Can Play” Initiative For Girls

The Atlanta Braves and Publix Super Markets hosted 175 girls, ages 9-12, from the Metro Atlanta YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, TryCope, Tennis in the ‘Hood, Girls, Inc., Agape Community Center and the Ben Hill Community Center for the third annual “She Can Play” leadership and physical fitness clinic.

Atlanta Mayor Shirely Franklin spoke to participants at the Atlanta Braves Baseball Academy about the importance of education, physical fitness and character.

Following the address from Mayor Franklin, the girls participated in a softball clinic.

The third annual "She Can Play" clinic featured Atlanta Mayor Shirely Franklin, The Women's Sports Foundation's GoGoGirl! Atlanta, Tomorrow's Champions and Ticketmaster's Tickets for Kids Program.

The clinic encouraged girls to make healthy choices for their minds and bodies, and enhance their lives through sports and physical activity.

Girls at the event participated in two softball clnics.
